Bobcat 730 Troubleshooting

The Clark Bobcat 730 skid steer loader is powered by 107.7 cu.in (1.8L) Wisconsin VF4D four-stroke four-cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of 28 hp (20.9 kW) at 2500 rpm. The Clark Bobcat 730 is equipped with a radial-lift loader boom, single-speed hydrostatic transmission, 80H drive chains, and 7.00x15 tires. The hydraulic system has a pump with fluid flow rate of 11 gpm (42 lpm). The hydraulic pressure is 2500 psi (172 bar). Engine Troubleshooting

Engine will not start or difficult to start
Fuel tank is empty - Add fuel.
Low-quality gasoline - Use correct gasoline grade.

Damaged spark plug - Install new spark plug.

Engine starts but then stops

Battery is not charging

Battery is defective - Replace the battery.
Belt is damaged or loose - Install a new belt or adjust belt tension.

Starter cranks slow
Low battery output - Low battery charging, charge as required.
Battery is not holding charge - Service battery or change it.
Terminals are faulty or battery cables are disconnected - Check wire connections and change or service terminals.

Starter doesn't crank
Battery is low or faulty - Battery needs to be recharged or replaced.
