Bobcat 873 Troubleshooting
The Bobcat 873 skid steer loader is powered by 166.7 cu.in (2.7L) Deutz BF4M1011 4-cylinder direct injection turbocharged diesel engine with a rated power of 73.5 hp (54.8 kW) at 2600 rpm. The Bobcat 873 is equipped with a vertical-lift loader boom, one-speed hydrostatic transmission, 100HS drive chains, and 12.00x16.5 standard tires. The hydraulic system has a pump with fluid flow rate of 18 gpm (68 lpm). The hydraulic pressure is 2750 psi (190 bar). The skid steer loader has a rated operating capacity of 2300 lbs (1045 kg) and tipping load of 4600 lbs (2090 kg). Diesel power loss
Clogged air cleaner - Install new air cleaner element.

Fan belt slipping or worn - Fan belt must be replaced.

Oil pressure is insufficient
Low oil level - Fill up the engine oil.
Oil filter is dirty - Change or service engine oil filter.
Improper type of engine oil - Use oil of proper viscosity.
Incorrect crankshaft bearing oil clearance - Bearings need to be reinstalled.

Engine knocks or noises
Low engine oil level - Fill up the engine oil.
Low coolant temperature - Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.
Wrong setting of fuel injection pump timing - Adjust according to specifications.

Battery won’t charge
Loose or corroded electrical wiring connections - Clean or tighten wiring connections.
Faulty battery terminal clamps - Terminal clamps should be changed.
Battery faulty cell - Battery change required.
Loose or damaged belt - Install a new belt or adjust belt tension.
Starter cranks slow
Low battery output - Battery needs to be recharged.
Battery runs out quickly - Service charging system or change battery.
Disconnected wires or corroded battery terminals - Connect wires correctly or change terminals.
Starter will not work
Battery is discharged or worn - Recharge or replace battery.
Battery wires are disconnected or incorrectly connected - Check wires and connect correctly.
