Takeuchi TL10V2 Troubleshooting
The
Takeuchi TL10V2 compact track loader driveline system components: Kubota
V3307-CR-T-E4B 4-cylinder turbocharged liquid-cooled diesel engine with a rated
power of 74.3 hp (55.4 kW), and two-speed hydro transmission. The hydraulic
system has a pump with a rated flow of 18.8 gpm (71.2 lpm) or 32.8 gpm (124
lpm). The Takeuchi TL10V2 is equipped with a vertical-lift loader boom, track
rollers with metal face seals, 15.7" (400 mm) rubber tracks, and hydraulic self
leveling. The loader has a max lift height of 124.8" (3170 mm) to hinge pin and
dump height of 95.9" (2435 mm). The rated operating capacity is 3600 lbs (1635
kg), and tipping load is 7200 lbs (3270 kg).
Engine Troubleshooting |
Engine starts hard or won't start
There is air in the fuel system - Bleed the system.
Dirty fuel filter - Service or replace the filter.
Faulty or dirty injection nozzles - Replace injection nozzles.
Water in the fuel system - Change fuel and repair fuel system.
Valve clearance is out of adjustment - Adjust valve clearance.
Fuel injection pump malfunction - Rebuild or replace pump.
Engine starts and stops suddenly
Air filter is dirty - Replace or clean air filter element.
Fuel filter element is dirty - Change the filter element.
Problems with fuel injection pump tightness - Inspect fuel injection pump for leaks.
Fuel injectors are dirty or defective - Replace or clean fuel injectors.
Defective fuel injection pump - Replace injection pump or repair it.
Engine stalls while running
Engine has not warmed up to the recommended temperature - Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.
Clogged fuel filter - Service or replace the filter.
Air in the fuel system - Air bleeding.
Fuel injection nozzles are damaged - Replace injection nozzles.
Improper fuel injection timing - Adjust fuel injection pump as required.
Engine shuts off while idling
Too low idle RPM - Correct low idle adjustment.
Damaged fuel injection pump - Repair or replace injection pump.
Defective fuel injectors - Clean or replace fuel injectors.
Valve clearance is wrong - Adjust valve clearance according to specifications.
Diesel power loss
Air cleaner is clogged - Service or replace air cleaner.
Dirty or faulty injection nozzles - Clean or replace injection nozzles.
Fuel injection pressure is wrong - Test fuel injection pressure and adjust it correctly.
Valve clearance is wrong - Adjust valve clearance according to specifications.
Incorrectly adjusted low idle speed - Adjust the low idle speed.
Dirty fuel lines or hoses - Clean fuel system lines and hoses.
Cylinder head gasket is defective - Gasket should be replaced.
Leaking or damaged piston rings - Piston rings replacement required.
Engine overheated
Coolant level is low - Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks.
Engine oil level is low - Check and refill engine oil.
Dirty radiator fins or defective radiator cap - Change cap or clean radiator.
Loose or damaged fan belt - Change the fan belt.
Engine overload - Load reducing required.
Low oil pressure
Low crankcase oil level - Fill crankcase to proper oil level.
Oil filter element clogging - Service or replace engine oil filter.
Different type of engine oil - Fill up with the correct oil viscosity.
Crankshaft bearing has incorrect oil clearance - Install new bearings.
Oil pump malfunction - Install a new pump.
Engine knocking or noise
Engine oil level is insufficient - Fill up the engine oil.
Engine not warmed up - Warm up the engine as required
Fuel injection pump timing is wrong - Adjust according to specifications.
Improperly adjusted low idle speed - Adjust low idle speed.
Damaged or clogged injectors - Change or clean fuel injectors.
Connecting rod misalignment or failure - Replace or align connecting rod.
Pistons are broken or worn - Have pistons replaced.

Drive system won't work in one direction or either direction
Insufficient hydraulic fluid - Add fluid as required.
Damaged or jammed track mechanism - Repair or remove jamming.
Input drive shaft is not working properly - Service or change drive shaft.
Relief valve is broken - Service or change relief valve.
Plugged hydraulic filter or suction line - Service suction line or replace hydraulic filter.
Hand or foot controls failure - Inspect and repair if necessary.
Worn drive motor or pump - Repair or change faulty component.
Machine won't move straight or moves jerky
Undercarriage tracks are jammed or defective - Repair or fix jamming.
Tracks are improperly tensioned or faulty - Adjust track tension properly or repair tracks.
Undercarriage track frame is plugged with dirt, debris, or foreign objects - Clean track frame, remove debris and foreign objects.
Lack of power
Hydraulic oil filter is plugged - Replace or service hydraulic filter.
Opened or worn relief valve - Replace or close relief valve.
Worn or faulty transmission components - Check and change defective components.
Input drive shaft malfunction - Replace or service the drive shaft.
Hydraulic system is leaking air - Air bleeding is required.
Drive system overheats
Hydraulic fluid is insufficient - Add fluid as required.
Dirty hydraulic fluid filter - Change hydraulic filter.
Stuck relief valve - Repair or replace.
Defective drive pump or hydraulic motor - Repair or replace faulty component.
Hydraulic oil cooler is dirty - Cooling fins should be cleaned.
Drive system overload - Reduce the load.
Drive system is noisy
Incorrect oil viscosity - Use oil of correct viscosity.
Air trapped in hydraulic system - Bleed air from hydraulic system.
Damaged drive pump or hydraulic motor - Inspect and replace as necessary.
Mechanical parts of drive system are damaged or worn - Check the parts for worn or defect and replace if required.

Hydraulic system overheating
Hydraulic pressure is incorrect - Hydraulic pressure must be set correctly.

Hydraulic control valve is defective - Change or repair hydraulic valve.
Hydraulic bucket cylinder is defective - Replace or repair cylinder.
Low hydraulic fluid level - Add fluid as required.
Bucket or lift arm is moving slowly
Hydraulic pump is worn - Test the pump flow rate and change pump if required.
Hydraulic cylinder leaking - Replace cylinder piston seals.
Low hydraulic fluid level - Fill the system to proper hydraulic fluid level.
Damaged or incorrect adjusted hydraulic control valve - Set correctly or repair.
Hydraulic system loosing pressure - Hydraulic pressure must be set correctly.
Jerky operation of the bucket or boom
Air in hydraulic system - Bleed air from system.
Clogged hydraulic oil filter element - Change or clean oil filter.
Hydraulic fluid is contaminated - Hydraulic fluid change required.
Scratched cylinder rod or tube - Change defective component.
Hydraulic pump is noisy
Hydraulic leakage or low oil level - Remedy hydraulic leakage or refill oil as necessary.
Hydraulic filter is clogged - Change or clean oil filter.
Clogged suction line - Suction line needs to be cleaned.
Pump is sucking air - Remove air from hydraulics.
Damaged pump parts - Rebuild or install new pump.
Electrical Troubleshooting |
Battery does not charge
Corroded or loose electrical wire connections - Service or tighten cable connections.
Defective battery terminal clamps - Install new terminal clamps.
Dead cell in battery - Change the battery.
Loose or worn belt - Adjust belt tension or install a new belt.
Starter turning slow
Battery capacity is low - Battery needs to be recharged.
Battery won’t hold charge - Service battery or replace it.
Terminals are faulty or battery cables are disconnected - Connect cables correctly or replace terminals.
Starter motor is not working
Battery is discharged or worn - Need to charge or replace the battery.
Battery wiring is disconnected or improperly connected - Inspect wiring and connect as required.
Battery power is low - Recharge the battery.
Starter motor is damaged - Change or repair starter.
