The
JCB 426E HT wheel loader driveline system components: 408 cu.in (6.7L) Cummins
QSB6.7 6-cylinder direct injection turbocharged diesel engine with a rated power
of 152 hp (113 kW), and 4x3 powershift transmission. The hydraulic system has a
pump with a rated capacity of 34.8 gal/min (132 l/min). The system relief
pressure is 3625 psi (250 bar). The JCB 426E HT is equipped with a power
steering system, hydraulic wet disc brakes, and 20.5R25 tires. The wheel loader
has a maximum lift height of 153.7" (3905 mm) and breakout force of 22240 lbs
(10110 kg). The rated operating capacity is 9240 lbs (4190 kg), and tipping load
is 18480 lbs (8380 kg).
Engine Troubleshooting |
Diesel engine hard to start or doesn't start
Air in fuel tank - Bleed fuel tank.
Fuel filter plugging - Service or replace the filter.
Fuel injection nozzles are damaged or dirty - Replace injection nozzles.
Water or dirt in fuel system - Drain, flush, and service the system.
Improper valve clearance - Check and adjust as required.
Fuel injection pump is not operating properly - Replace or repair injection pump.
Engine starts and immediately shuts off
Clogged air cleaner - Install new air cleaner element.
Fuel filter element is clogged - Change or clean the filter element.
Fuel injection pump is leaking - Repair any leaks.
Fuel injectors are dirty or defective - Replace fuel injectors.
Defective fuel injection pump - Rebuild or replace pump.
Engine shuts off suddenly during operation
Engine is cold - Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.
Fuel filter element clogging - Clean the filter or install new filter element.
Air in fuel tank - Bleed fuel tank.
Defective or clogged injection nozzle - Service or change injection nozzles.
Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing - Adjust as recommended.
Engine stops at idle
Incorrect low idle speed adjustment - Adjust the low idle speed.
Fuel injection pump is not operating properly - Repair or install a new fuel pump.
Dirty or defective injectors - Replace fuel injectors.
Excessive valve clearance - Adjust valve clearance.
Engine loses power
Air cleaner is dirty - Clean or replace element.
Clogged or burnt injection nozzle - Service or change injection nozzles.
Insufficient fuel injection pressure - Adjust to correct pressure.
Incorrect valve clearance - Adjust valve clearance.
Improperly adjusted low idle speed - Adjust the low idle speed.
Clogged fuel hoses or lines - Fuel lines and hoses need to be cleaned.
Blown cylinder head gasket - Change cylinder head gasket.
Piston rings are worn or damaged - Replace piston rings.
Engine overheats
Lack of coolant in cooling system - Refill to the correct level and inspect system for leaks.
Engine oil insufficient - Need to add engine oil.
Clogged radiator core or leaking radiator cap - Install new cap or clean radiator.
Damaged or worn fan belt - If necessary, replace the belt.
Engine is under excessive load - Load reducing is recommended.
Insufficient oil pressure
Oil level is low - Add oil to the engine crankcase.
Oil filter is clogged - Change or clean engine oil filter element.
Oil grade or viscosity is incorrect - Use oil of correct viscosity.
Crankshaft bearing oil clearance is incorrect - Bearing replacement required.
Worn oil pump - Replace as required.
Engine noise or knocking
Engine oil level is low - Check and refill engine oil.
Engine is not preheated - Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.
Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing - Set up as recommended.
Low idle speed setting is incorrect - Normalize low idle speed.
Dirty or defective injectors - Replace fuel injectors.
Connecting rod is misaligned or worn - Need to change or align the connecting rod.
Scored or worn pistons - Replace the pistons as required.

Transmission oil pressure is insufficient
Transmission oil insufficient - Fill up the transmission oil.
Transmission oil filter is dirty (if equipped) - Clean or replace the transmission filter.
Relief valve failure - Install a new valve.
Transmission is excessively noisy
Transmission fluid insufficient - Check and refill the transmission fluid.
Transmission fluid is dirty - Change the fluid.
Backlash is incorrect or gears are damaged - Replace defective gears or set backlash properly.
Bearings are broken or worn - Install new bearings.
Damaged or worn gear shift forks - Replace defective shift forks.
Shaft splines are stuck or worn out - Change the shaft.
Gear hard to shift
Gear shift linkage is corroded or worn - Install a new gear shift linkage.
Shift forks are bent or worn out - Replace defective shift forks.
Gear shifting mechanism is defective - Defective parts must be replaced.
Improperly adjusted or worn clutch - Clutch needs to be replaced or adjusted.
Transmission fluid leakage
Transmission fluid level is exceeded - Excess fluid must be drained.
Damaged gaskets or seals - Change defective seal or gaskets.

Hydraulic system has overheating
Hydraulic pressure is not adjusted correctly - Correct adjustment is required.
Defective or misadjusted main relief valve - Set up or change the relief valve.
Hydraulic fluid is contaminated - Change hydraulic fluid.
Hydraulic fluid level is low - Fill the hydraulic system with oil.
Hydraulic pump is defective - Repair or replace pump if necessary.
Lift arm can't drop or lift
Defective lift controls - Inspect and repair if necessary.
Hydraulic pump failure - Repair or replace pump if necessary.
Hydraulic control valve malfunction - Repair or replace the valve.

Bucket is not working
Bucket tilt controls malfunction - Change or repair.
Damaged hydraulic oil pump - Repair or install new hydraulic pump.
Hydraulic control valve is faulty - Install a new valve or repair it.
Hydraulic bucket cylinder is broken - Change or repair cylinder.
Insufficient hydraulic oil - Fill the system to proper hydraulic oil level.
Slow bucket or lift arm action
Worn hydraulic oil pump - Flow-rate pump and change pump if necessary.
Oil leaks from hydraulic cylinder - Change cylinder piston seals.
Hydraulic fluid level low - Fill the system to proper hydraulic fluid level.
Hydraulic control valve is faulty or out of adjustment - Adjust properly or repair.
Hydraulic pressure is low - Correct setting is required.
Lift arm or bucket jerks when working
Hydraulic system is leaking air - Air bleeding is required.
Hydraulic oil filter element clogging - Replace or clean the filter.
Hydraulic oil is contaminated - Hydraulic oil change required.
Cylinder rod or tube is scratched - Replace worn component.
Hydraulic pump makes excessive noise
Hydraulic leakage or lack of oil - Refill hydraulic oil or repair leaks in system.
Dirty hydraulic filter - Clean or install new filter.
Suction line clogging - Need to service the suction line.
Pump is sucking air - Bleed air.
Worn pump parts - Rebuild or install new pump.
Electrical Troubleshooting |
Battery does not charge
Electrical cable connections are loose or corroded - Clean or tighten connections.
Battery terminal connectors are defective - Change terminal connectors.
Battery dead cell - Battery replacement required.
Damaged or loose belt - Adjust belt tension or replace belt.
Starter cranks slowly
Battery voltage is low - Recharge the battery.
Battery runs out quickly - Service charging system or replace battery.
Bad terminals or disconnected battery cables - Check wiring and clean or replace terminals.
Starter is not cranking
Battery is low or faulty - Charge or change the battery.
Wiring is incorrectly connected or disconnected - Inspect wiring and connect correctly.
Low battery output - Recharge the battery.
Starter motor is faulty - Starter should be replaced.
